Frequently asked questions
Does Firebase Dynamic Links still work?
No. Google shut the service down on August 25, 2025: page.link links no longer lead to your app or the stores.
Are Shortext dynamic links really free?
Yes. They need no subscription: you can open an account and use only the links.
Do I need to change my app?
If your app already handled Android App Links and iOS universal links, publish the verification files Shortext gives you. The Firebase Dynamic Links SDK can be removed.
What happens to my old page.link links?
They no longer work and cannot be redirected: only Google controls that domain. Replace them where you published them, starting with running campaigns.
Do WhatsApp previews count as clicks?
No. The robots that draw the preview get a card taken from your page, and only real visitors are counted.
